About Yellow Coat
Yellow Coat Theatre Company is a cross-generational, women-led theatre collective. Our work focuses on celebrating women’s experiences through innovative and energetic theatre. The creative team is comprised of mother-and-daughter duo, Caron Kehoe and Emma Lamond, along with returning members of the collective, including Fiona White, Claire Marie Perry and Hannah Petch.
The name “Yellow Coat” was inspired by (unsurprisingly) a yellow coat that Caron bought for Emma when she was a toddler. It was outrageously expensive and not in any way essential - but they both adored it - and so it was purchased. This attitude of obtaining or creating something that you want (even when it’s hard to get) is synonymous with the ethos of Yellow Coat; we’re here making the work we want to see, even when it feels out of our reach. It’s a pretty rubbish origin story, but an absolutely excellent coat.
